Kirk’s Comment: I have had three partial knee menisectomies, 1 total medial menisectomy and an ACL reconstruction on both knees. While it is true that a partial menisectomy while getting rid of a fragment or two of the meniscus can relieve pain you end up creating more surface area between the femoral and tibial heads to cause where and tear. The key is to eat an anti-inflammatory diet (trial off dairy, wheat, eggs, alcohol, eggs (if eaten more than 3 times per week ) with lots of vegetables, whole food carbohydrates (beans, lentils, peas, yams, sweet potato, rice quinoa, etc.) which is whole food, lots of non-starchy vegetables and rich in omega 3 and 9 fatty acids (fish and olive oil). And it is very important to strength your quad muscles and calves daily which keep the knee more stable and reduces where and tear. Full range of motion in the needs. Try to move to do body weight squats for full range of knee motion. “Use it or lose it”. Don’t do what hurts you…but go up to that point.

The Magtein® group compared to the placebo was associated with greater improvements in overall cognitive performance (by the NIH Total Cognition Composite) with greater treatment benefits on working and episodic memory. There was a 7.5-year reduction in estimated brain cognitive age and a greater improvement in reaction time. There was a reduction in heart rate and an increase in heart rate variability but no improvement in sleep in those self-reporting sleep dissatisfac tion.

(Comments: This case is remarkable in that this individual went on Ivermectin (120 mg/d, 1 mg/kg? normal CA dose), high dose Fenbendazole (2664 mg/d), as well as a solid dose of Mebendazole 1000 mg/d, Modified Citrus Pectin 15 gm/d (standard dose), (standard dose) CBD Oil 100 mg/d AND he was on his 11th monthly 5 day FAST at the time of his email to Dr. Makis. Unique aspects of his regimen are that he took both Fenbendazole and Mebendazole at the same time, though I am seeing and recommend this combination more frequently and tolerated by the patient. Also 2664 mg of Fenbendazole is a high dose. I suspect he took six 444 mg/d tablets to get that amount. I would be curious to see his liver function tests (transaminases ALT, AST) currently and I would monitor them monthly if I were seeing him. Fenbendazole made my liver function tests go up at a lower dose and I just had a patient in which Fenbendazole at a much lower dose when added with mebendazole causing a rise in liver enzymes. This is a really good “core” of cancer treatments of repurposed drugs and nutraceuticals (Ivermectin, Fenbendazole, Mebendazole, CBD oil, Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP)). And, the 11 monthly 5 day fasts are probably a very significant part of the success of this particular case. How long to continue these doses? No one really knows. I intuitively think there is something to pulsing the doses or taking days off like doing weekends. But when someone is having significant progress as in this case it is not an easy decision when to back off or cut down the repurposed medications or nutraceuticals. I tend to recommend staying the course until the next scan. Then maybe make a change. It would be nice to have big studies but we don’t. You always have to extrapolate, discuss with the patient, then go forward and see what happens doing judicious testing. In closing this gentleman went on aggressive doses of the repurposed drugs (IVM, fenben, mebendazole) with atleast two atleast common anti-cancer nutraceuticals (MCP, CBD) and added monthly 5-day fasts which can be very powerful anti-cancer treatment in-and-of itself.
