Reversing Your Diabetes…The Mastering Diabetes Retreat and Coaching Program – An Interview with Robby Barbaro and Cyrus Khambatta, PhD

Kirk Hamilton interviews Dr. Cyrus Khambatta (nutritional biochemistry) and Robby Barbaro (The Mindful Diabetic) both type 1 diabetics on their 5 day “Mastering Diabetes Retreat” with 3 full days of intensive experiential training that results in dramatic reductions in blood sugar (type 1 & 2 diabetics), medication need (or elimination), and reduced insulin doses in type 1 diabetics.

The program combines an all you can eat buffet of low-fat, whole, unprocessed, high complexed carbohydrate rich foods (beans, lentils, squash), fruit and non-starchy vegetables followed by educational lectures after breakfast and lunch, which are then followed by twice daily, practical exercise sessions.

Because blood sugars can drop so dramatically and quickly, within hours to days, because of the effectiveness of the program (diet and exercise), and the clients dramatic improvement in insulin sensitivity, clients are coached on how to use a “Decision Tree” so they can reduce their medication and insulin needs appropriately to avoid low blood sugar episodes. Type 2 diabetics see dramatic reductions in their fasting and 2 hour postprandial blood sugars and type 1’s see a 20-40% reduction in insulin need while at the same time significantly increasing their “good” carbohydrate intake which to many participants is almost unbelievable!…

The focus of the program is educating you by experience how to dramatically improve your insulin sensitivity, (i.e. reducing the amount of insulin you need to drive glucose into the cell).

Mastering Diabetes Coaching Program

Robby and Dr. Khambatta offer an online coaching that has three components to help the participants make permanent and lasting changes so one can cure their type 2 diabetes and dramatically reduce their insulin need if type 1 diabetics, and reduce the health  consequences of being a diabetic (increases in cardiovascular diseases,
